The students showed their designs to a panel of judges on September 17, 2008.
"By engaging these young designers in animal-friendly fur-free fashion, they are demonstrating the ability to deliver excellent fashion without the use of animal products," said Kristin Leppert, director of the Fur-Free Campaign for The Humane Society of the United States.
"Today's consumers are demanding animal-friendly apparel. These designers will be joining the trend to go fur-free."
The winners in the national competition will be determined by a panel of industry professionals by October 24, 2008.
